About us
The KABS (abbreviation for Kommunale Aktionsgemeinschaft zur Bekämpfung der Schnakenplage, meaning “communal action group against mosquito nuisance”) is a registered and accredited non-profit association. In southwestern Germany a mosquito is vernacularized as “Schnake”, even though the correct term would be “Stechmücke”.
Members of the association are territorial entities in the federal states of Baden-Wuerttemberg, Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate. The purpose of the KABS is to curb mosquito nuisance in the Upper Rhine Valley while using ecologically compatible measures.
